Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what our users ask most often.

What is PreloadApps?

PreloadApps is a Windows startup app launcher that opens your daily apps, folders, and websites automatically after Windows starts. It helps you get your workspace ready without manually opening everything one by one.

Who is PreloadApps for?

PreloadApps is useful for anyone who opens the same apps, folders, or websites every day after turning on their PC. It is helpful for office work, programming, design, study, trading, browsing, email, and daily productivity setups.

Why should I use PreloadApps instead of normal Windows Startup?

Windows Startup can launch apps automatically, but it gives you limited control. PreloadApps lets you manage your startup launch list in one place, add folders and websites, set delays, choose launch order, launch apps minimized, and start everything manually from the tray whenever needed.

Does PreloadApps replace Windows Startup?

No. PreloadApps does not replace Windows Startup. It gives you a cleaner and more controlled way to open the apps, folders, and websites you want after Windows starts.

Will PreloadApps slow down Windows startup?

PreloadApps is designed to open your selected items after Windows starts. You can add delays between items so everything does not open at the same moment. This helps avoid sudden startup overload.

Does PreloadApps start automatically with Windows?

Yes. You can enable the option to start PreloadApps with Windows.

Can PreloadApps open my apps automatically after login?

Yes. When startup launch is enabled, PreloadApps can open your selected items after Windows login.

Can I use PreloadApps without automatic startup?

Yes. You can keep automatic startup launch off and use PreloadApps only when you want to manually launch your saved items.

Does PreloadApps stay in the tray?

Yes. PreloadApps can run from the system tray so you can quickly launch your apps without opening the full window.

Which Windows versions are supported?

PreloadApps is made for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Is PreloadApps safe to install?

Yes. The release version of PreloadApps is planned to be digitally signed so Windows can verify the publisher and file integrity.

Do I need internet to use PreloadApps?

You may need internet for download, activation, license verification, and updates. Basic local app launching can work without internet after setup and activation.

Will PreloadApps update automatically?

PreloadApps includes update-related components so users can receive newer versions when available. Exact update behavior may depend on the installed version.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. PreloadApps includes a 15-day free trial so you can test the app before buying. We recommend using the trial period to make sure PreloadApps works well with the apps, folders, and websites you want to launch.

What happens after the trial ends?

After the trial ends, you will need to buy and activate a license to continue using the full version.

Can I launch apps minimized?

Yes. PreloadApps supports launch modes such as normal, minimized, and force minimized where supported by the app.

I selected minimized or force minimized, but the app is not minimizing. Why?

Some apps may not fully follow minimized launch requests. This can happen when an app uses a splash screen, launcher, helper process, update screen, or custom startup behavior. PreloadApps will try to launch the app using the selected mode, but the final window behavior depends on how that app is built.

Can I temporarily disable an item?

Yes. You can enable or disable individual items anytime without deleting them.

Can I test one app before saving?

Yes. You can test an item from PreloadApps to make sure it opens correctly.

Can I launch everything manually?

Yes. You can launch your saved items manually from the main window.

Can PreloadApps launch apps as administrator?

Yes. You can mark an app to run as administrator. Windows may show a UAC permission prompt when admin access is required.

Why does Windows show a UAC prompt?

Windows shows a UAC prompt when an app needs administrator permission. This is normal Windows security behavior.

Can PreloadApps launch normal apps when running in administrator mode?

Yes. PreloadApps is designed to handle normal and administrator launch behavior safely.

Does PreloadApps support Microsoft Store apps?

Yes. PreloadApps can add and launch supported Microsoft Store apps.

Why does force minimized not work for every app?

Some apps do not fully follow Windows minimized launch requests. PreloadApps tries to launch apps using the selected mode, but the final behavior can depend on how each app is built.
